Privacy notice

This notice explains how Lily's Nursery and Day Care collects, uses and protects personal information about parents, carers and children, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Last updated: 30 June 2026.

Who we are

Lily's Nursery and Day Care (“we”, “us”) is the data controller for the personal information described here. We are an Ofsted-registered early years setting at 3 North Star Boulevard, Greenhithe, Kent, DA9 9UG. Our website and secure parent portal are operated on our behalf by our technology provider under a written data-processing agreement.

Information we collect

  • Enquiries and visit requests: your name, contact details, your child's date of birth or age, preferred start date and anything you tell us in your message.
  • Parent accounts and childcare records: account details, your children's records, bookings, attendance, and information needed to provide care.
  • Payments: invoice and payment status. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store card numbers.
  • Technical data: limited information needed to keep the service secure and working (for example, sign-in session data).

How we use it, and our lawful bases

  • Consent — to respond to your enquiry or visit request.
  • Contract — to provide childcare and manage your account once your child attends.
  • Legal obligation — to meet safeguarding, early years and Ofsted requirements.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the service secure and to administer the nursery.

Children's information

We treat children's personal data with particular care. We only collect what is needed to provide safe, high-quality care and to meet our legal and safeguarding duties, and we limit who can access it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the nursery and website — including secure hosting, email delivery, authentication, payment processing and our learning-journal provider — each acting under contract and only as instructed. We may also share information where we are legally required to (for example, safeguarding or Ofsted).

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and visit information only as long as needed to respond and for our legitimate administrative purposes. Records relating to a child's care are retained in line with statutory early years and safeguarding requirements, then securely deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to access your information; to ask us to correct or delete it; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and the service secure. We do not use advertising cookies.

For any privacy question or to make a request, please contact Lily's Nursery and Day Care using the contact details on our website.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
